Come for a ride through the beautiful North Pennines scenery aboard a train hauled by a vintage steam, diesel or battery electric locomotive.

Our award-winning railway is now operating Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays until the end of October.

Trains depart at 10.30, 13.00 and 15.00 and booking is via our website. Our engineering workshop gallery is currently closed to the public.

We have been awarded the Visit England Good to Go Kitemark and will continue to operate with socially distanced seating, mask wearing, one-way systems and hand sanitising. We ask that visitors comply with these measures despite the lifting of government restrictions on 19th July 2021.

The South Tyne Trail is open and our free car park is open daily. Please note the gates will be locked when the cafe closes.
