Come for a ride through the beautiful North Pennines scenery aboard a train hauled by a vintage steam, diesel or battery electric locomotive.
Our award-winning railway will re-open to passengers on Saturday 3rd July and our operational days in 2021 will be Saturdays, Sundays and August Bank Holiday Monday.

We have been awarded the Good to Go Kitemark by Visit England and will be asking visitors to comply with Government regulations in force at the time of visiting. This may include mask wearing, social distancing and observing a one-way system. There are hand wash stations throughout our site.
The Station cafe at Alston and Station Cafe at Slaggyford are both open daily. Socially distanced indoor and outdoor seating is available.
The South Tyne Trail is open and our free car park is open daily. Please note the gates will be locked when the cafe closes.
