"Alston Essentials was set up in response to the lockdown and to ensure everyone in our community could get their essential supplies and for many their only human contact.
Now the restrictions have eased and most people are able to either visit the shops themselves or have friends and family who are able to shop for them we are winding down our service.
The ‘Alston Essentials’ van will no longer be on the road but we will continue to support our friends who are unable to get groceries, medicines etc. We will use our own cars once a week on Thursdays to deliver these essential supplies. If you need our support please ring the shops as you have done in the past with your order and let them know they’re for Alston Essentials delivery.
We have all enjoyed our time on the van rekindling old friendships and making new ones and in the nicest possible way we hope our services won’t be needed again."
