Cumbria Tourism

Update from 13 June: https://mailchi.mp/cumbriatourism.org/cvirus-995283?e=06ff7a6f19 Some of the articles refer to Member areas. AMBA is a member, so if there are things you're interested in, but can't access, let me know. I attended the Marketing webinar yesterday; I think that will be available online, so will forward a link if it is. The message from that webinar for accommodation providers was to advertise now as if you are going to re-open from 4 July, but cover in your T&Cs what happens if you can't. Evidence is pointing strongly towards people wanting rural breaks when they can go on holiday again.

Reopening High Streets Safely (RHSS) Funding

There is an EU fund that we have access to via Eden DC, in order to help us re-open our town/village centres safely. A link to the guidance and FAQs on this funding is below. Although the guidance says it's over 30 pages long, don't be put off, you only need to read the first few pages! https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/reopening-high-streets-safely-fund-guidance Raymond Miller kindly put the red social distancing signs up in Alston, Garrigill and Nenthead on behalf of Cumbria CC and Eden DC. The RHSS fund will enable us to do much more though. A group of us met yesterday to discuss initial ideas, and the Alston Moor Emergency Response Group added to those today.
