In the early days of the Coronovirus crisis, the Telephone Helpline was set up by Claire Driver, Ian Grey and Tim Haldon for the Alston Moor Emergency Response Group.
A group of volunteers took calls and answered queries covering9am to 6pm, 7 days a week.
Many calls were from people self isolating who were seeking reassurance about the grocery and prescription delivery services. There were also calls about other difficulties people were experiencing, and the call handlers were able to refer them on to the right people.
