“Alston Dental Practice Ltd re-opened on Wednesday, 10th June 2020. However, because of COVID-19, we have to do things a little differently as we proceed.

As you know, we’ve been closed for over 8 weeks and we know that many of you have been waiting to be seen.

We will do our very best to get appointments scheduled - but all appointments will be on a priority basis.

In addition, we will be seeing fewer patients on any work day than in the past.
Another change is that we will be open on WEDNESDAYS now until September.
Lastly, we can only see patients who have scheduled appointments.

So if you want or need to be seen, you must telephone us on 01434 381511 to get an appointment.

When you telephone for an appointment, you will be asked questions as we fill in a Triage Form. Completing this form tells us a bit about you, your history and why you need an appointment. This will allow us to plan for your coming in to the practice. When you come in for your appointment, please do not be surprised or concerned because our entire Alston team will be wearing PPE - that is to keep you safe and to keep the team safe during this difficult time.
As you can guess, we ask you for your patience as we work with/for you.
Please feel free to email us: marciaf@me.com, include some details and someone will call you back.

We do look forward to a time when things are more settled - and more normal.
Of course, we look forward to welcoming you back to our practice."

Wednesday 10th June

"Today was our first day back seeing patients today after 3 months of us being closed during the coronavirus lockdown.

We want to thank our patients for being so understanding of the new measures/protocols we now have in place.

Just in case you weren’t aware, you can only attend the surgery now with a pre-booked telephoned appointment by phoning us on a WEDNESDAY (our new opening day) on 01434 381511.

At the moment, we can only do non-aerosol generating procedures (check ups, temporary fillings, extractions etc). This is treatment without using a drill.

As you can see our staff are dressed in full PPE for your & our safety. You will be asked to sanitise your hands upon entering the surgery. If you have a face mask please wear it to the surgery (but if you don’t, we have some - so don’t worry). A nurse will then take your temperature.

Please come to your appointment alone (unless you need a carer and/or are a child) and don’t bring any extra shopping/baggage. You will then be taken to the surgery for your appointment.

These new protocols are in line with current government guidelines and to protect you. Please don’t be scared and as always please do contact us if you have any queries.

Take care, stay safe and see you soon!

Thank you from The Alston Practice Team"
