VE celebrations coinciding with Coronovirus lockdown, and the desire to keep in touch with families of school age children resulted in updated Ration packs' being distributed to Alston Moor families. No dried egg in the package for this generation, but interesting things to do and good things eat, to raise morale and evoke another momentous time in our history. Families were delighted by the deliveries, and lots of positive comments have been received by the team such as 'Thank you very much to all involved. Incredible community spirit '.
The team was lead by Jim McCarry and Nick Mason with help from Mark and Jaci Wojtecki, Janice Palmer, Liz Walton, the Alston Essentials van, and Andrea, Community Champion at Morrisons, Penrith.
