We have brought the Working Group's correspondence with Westmorland and Furness Council together in one place: the Community Case.
It sets out, with the documents to support it, why Grisedale Croft is not a service the Council is free to withdraw — its residential and step-down beds were the documented replacement for the in-patient beds Alston Moor gave up in 2017–18, and the clinical support promised alongside them was delivered for a time and then allowed to lapse.
The page links our two formal letters to the Council, of 22 May and 11 June 2026, and explains the records the NHS and Cumberland Council have now released under freedom of information. We will keep it up to date as the case develops.
The consultation on the future of Grisedale Croft is open until 5 August 2026.
